Job Description

Signet Maritime Corporation has an immediate opening for a Manager, Marine Operations, U.S. Gulf of Mexico, East Coast & Caribbean for Fleet Operations. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, have an excellent driving record, advanced computer skills and a bachelor's degree. A USCG License and Maritime tugboat experience is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Create a safety culture throughout the organization
  2. Implements policies and procedures by performing personnel functions such as hiring, interviewing, evaluating, and training
  3. Manage operational changes
  4. Oversee and manage the Marine Superintendents work and scheduling
  5. Provide operational and technical management oversight of all vessels
  6. Coordinate with employees, surveyors, inspectors and other parties to ensure the vessels comply with local, national, and international rules, laws and regulations together with classification requirements
  7. Monitor fleet performance to ensure vessels are serviced, maintained and records are kept up-to-date in respect to hull, machinery and technical matters. To be completed in conjunction with Engineering
  8. Review the purchase of spares parts, stores, new equipment and services
  9. Review disbursement accounts with respect to supplies and technical expenditures
  10. Assist Captains in the daily operations of the vessels and with crew management, crew changes, and rotational travel
  11. Manage special projects by interacting with customers and outside vendors, performing cost analysis estimates, preparing schedules, and reviewing finished work and payments
  12. Prepare employee performance appraisal reports
  13. Recommend competency and licensing profiles for marine personnel to Human Resources
  14. Interface with vessel crews and customers with the utmost regard for professionalism and confidentiality
  15. Serve as the Alternate DPA
  16. Participate in customer and business development meetings

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor Degree is required with minimum GPA of 3.0
  2. Extensive experience sailing tugboats is required, sailing as Captain on ocean going tugs with towing experience is required
  3. An active USCG License is preferred
  4. A 1600 Ton or greater license, with a Master of Towing endorsement, is preferred
  5. A valid driver's license and good driving record is required
