Mud-Mat Installation

Working in the Nakika Field, Mississippi Canyon area, Signet provided tractor towing tugs SIGNET ENTERPRISE and SIGNET INTREPID to transport an ocean deck barge for the mud-mat installation (mud-mats are used to prevent erosion in the subsea shore-bound piping systems). All operations were conducted free of incident and injury. Working alongside the DEEP PIONEER, Signet also provided a Mooring Master for the offshore transfer of the eight mud-mats.

Rigid-Base Jumper Installation

Project Overview>>>
Signet Maritime provided tractor towing tugs SIGNET ENTERPRISE and SIGNET INTREPID and an ocean deck barge for the subsea installation of rigid-base jumpers. Operations took place in the Walker Ridge area alongside the light construction vessel HELIX EXPRESS and support the Gulf of Mexico's first Floating Production Storage and Offload (FPSO) Project. Signet also provided a Mooring Master for offshore cargo transfer, project management for load and offload of barge equipment, sea fastening design, and structural engineering used to transport the jumpers. All operations and subsea installations were completed without incident or injury.

This decommissioned Tarawa class amphibious assault vessel was brought into Brownsville for scrapping. Signet provided three assist tugs to safely bring the vessel, under tow, to International Shipbreaking Ltd. The tow of the USS SAIPAN was completed safely and without incident.

Project Overview>>>
Signet assisted with inbound and outbound movements of SEVEN OCEANS by providing 3 assist tugs. The modern reel-lay DP II vessel can handle up to 16" pipe around the 3,500 main deck-mounted storage and deployment reel. All vessel movements were handled safely and without incident.

Barge Transport October - November 2009
Project Overview>>>
Signet was contracted to provide tug support and terminal space for the construction and sail-away for the Peregrino Project. Signet was able to facilitate the transport and loadout of jackets and accommodations from Ingleside to Port Aransas Sea Buoy for transfer to ocean tow. Each individual tow was completed safely and without incident.

Provided ocean going tug and 250 x 72 deck barge to transport steel pipe from Houston, Texas and St. Mary's, Louisiana to Tampico, Mexico. Provided all marine logistics for the safe and successful loadout and delivery of equipment.

During the Bascule Bridge project, Signet made two round trips and safely transported two (2) jumbo hopper barges (200 x 35 x 14) loaded with bridge sections from Ingleside, TX to Tampa, FL via the ICW.

Contracted to move the crane barge DANNY B and 3 hopper barges from Louisiana to Ingleside, TX. Signet provided dock space for 6 hopper barges and the crane barge as required and provided all tug assistance to move the bauxite shipments into the hopper barges and shift them for loading onto the ocean going vessels at Sherwin Alumina.

Signet provided tug assistance for the dead weight survey, incline test, numerous shiftings and ongoing sea trial tests before its departure. Signet escorted the Sludge Red Hook for a safe trip down the ship channel.

Signet was contracted to provide all marine logistics, including Towmaster, Pilots, Line handlers, and United States Coast Guard Notification for closures, for transit of the barge AMT TRAVELER laden with the HA-KU-H jacket from Bay, Ltd. Corpus Christi to the Aransas Pass Sea Buoy. Signet Maritime also provided stowage of the barge while awaiting clear weather passage to the Sea Buoy. The Scope of Work included providing tugs to assist in the arrival of barge AMT TRAVELER, maneuver barge during loadout, and tow barge from Bay, Lts. to Signet Maritime Terminal, and from Signet Maritime terminal to the Aransas Pass Sea Buoy.

JACKET PROJECT

Project Overview>>>
Contracted to provide tug, barge and terminal space to support the transport and loadout of two Jackets from Corpus Christi for transfer 12 miles offshore Gulf of Mexico to a foreign flag vessel. The project was completed with only three feet of clearance space between the Jackets and the Corpus Christi Harbor Bridge.
