Assistant, Business Development - Houston, TX (Full Time)

Job Description

Signet Maritime Corporation has an immediate opening for a detail-oriented, self-motivated and organized Assistant to support the Business Development Team, in the Houston, Texas office. The ideal candidate will be experienced in Microsoft Excel, administration, customer relations and the maritime industry. The Assistant, Business Development will be expected to aid the Business Development Team with economic analysis, strategic planning and tactical execution, needed to drive sales cycles and ensure our existing and future assets are fully utilized. We are seeking a talented, motivated, self-starter to support our expanding operations. The ability to manage multiple projects, in a fast-paced, priority changing environment is a necessity. The person qualified for this role will be an essential and valued member of the Signet Team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Support business development team efforts by tracking potential leads, collecting and sharing market/industry intelligence both domestic and international;
  2. Provides detailed reporting for the regular analysis of existing and future customer needs, so as to anticipate future sales and business opportunities;
  3. Accurately maintains and regularly updates the business development log;
  4. Comfortable developing and maintaining customer relations through strategic relationships with customer management based on a clear understanding of their needs, vision and strategy;
  5. Establish and maintain on-going client relationships with the various parties to anticipate and resolve potential problems, and develop new business from existing commercial relationships;
  6. Assist with development of Estimated Cost Analysis Documents for Cost Management, Procurement, and Contractions of Projects;
  7. Collaborate with marketing and public relations to ensure integrity of Signet brand;
  8. Answer multiple phone lines in a professional and courteous manner taking accurate and complete phone messages;
  9. Create MPRA meeting sign-in sheets;
  10. Create, track and maintain accurate databases, contact records, customer files;
  11. Schedule and organize Business Development activities such as meetings, conferences and department activities;
  12. Create and distribute contact card and lists;
  13. Provide high level of administrative support to Corporate Managers;
  14. Complete special projects and assignments as needed.

Experience and Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree from a highly accredited university is REQUIRED with a minimum GPA of 3.0;
  2. Three (3) years of experience in administration, business development, sales support, or quotes/proposal position in a fast paced office environment;
  3. Background in the Maritime Industry or Oil and Gas Industry preferred.
  4. Applicant must be a self-starter and able to complete projects with little to no guidance with extreme attention to detail.
